Combining decades (gulp!) of experience in career development and fitness leadership, I'm excited to help midlife women STRUT confidently toward the careers and lives they desire at this dynamic stage of life.
I would (humbly, cough, cough...) say I'm a kick-ass champion, cheerleader and mountain mover. My greatest thrill is seeing that "aha" moment when someone recognizes their unique brilliance and steps boldly toward who they want to be.
Movement, mindset, networking and personal branding are my jam. I LOVE to help people take action, get noticed and get connected. Actually, I kinda live for it.
Why does this matter? Like you (vintage 1975 over here!), I'm not even close to done yet. We're just hitting our stride. Midlife is not a crisis, it's a launch.
Since confidence comes from both clarity and energy, I bring my fitness leadership experience into the mix too. 👇
What began as STRUT 4 Success in 2018 — a career-propelling business to help people shift their mindset and movement for success — has evolved into something more.
Something deeply personal.
Back then, success was about climbing ladders and chasing greatness. Now, it’s about rebuilding and rebranding our lives. Claiming who we are and who we want to be.
It’s about living and working with intention — prioritizing purpose over power, and connection over competition.
In my late forties, after a pandemic, the loss of my home, and multiple injuries that ripped me away from the active life that grounded me, I hit pause.
I was physically and mentally limping through life. It was a beatdown.
But somewhere between frustration and fatigue, I scraped up the courage to start again. I knew this was just a chapter in my story, not the end of it.
I made a promise to myself that #year50 (as I lovingly came to call it) would be about rising instead of unraveling. Fifty and beyond would be a celebration of the work I was doing to thrive again, and an investment in delicious possibility.
(Yeah, I said DELICIOUS!)
So... I went back to the gym — softer and slower — where no one knew about my life as a long-time career professional (or would even have guessed!) that I had once been a fitness instructor.
I checked my ego at the door, allowed myself to be an awkward and imperfect student, and leaned into the journey.
And after keeping my head down in that space, I finally looked up. I took notice of the people around me, especially others my age. I listened to their whispers about “getting old” or “slowing down.” I began talking with them and asking different questions:
This seemed to ignite something. There was a shift. Conversations changed from "am I too old for this?" to "let's sign up and do this together!" Where we had once been a group of "older" people, we became a vibrant circle of friends - moving, laughing and inspiring others to look up too.
In the beginning women, specifically, were struggling with these questions.
Between caregiving for parents, worrying about adult kids, and riding the wild hormonal wave of midlife, many had quietly put themselves last — or off the list entirely.
They weren’t broken. Just buried. Under responsibility, expectation, and old "nice girl" narratives.
STRUT became my way — our way — to dig out, dust off, and walk boldly toward what’s next.
That’s how STRUT was reborn — as a movement for midlife women who are ready to rise, reconnect, and reimagine what’s next.
Together, we’re turning “maybe someday” into “why not now?"
